Crystal Lake Alpacas is a high quality alpaca farm located in the northwest corner of the Lower Peninsula of Michigan. Our Farm is nestled on 145 beautiful acres of land which is bordered by the Betsie River and has panoramic views of Crystal Lake. Our town, Frankfort, is a port city on Lake Michigan.
Our herd is continuously growing, but our family goal is to remain a small alpaca farm dedicated to breeding and raising healthy alpacas with the finest and most elite fiber possible. We provide our clients with excellent personal care, services and support.
In 1991, we built The Platte Lake Veterinary Clinic in Honor, MI where David is a veterinarian. We make every attempt to be current on the latest information on alpaca medical and nutritional care. On staff, we have an associate veterinarian who specializes in and is experienced in camelid medicine. We believe we provide our and our clients' alpacas with the best service available.
Our alpacas have a very impressive heritage which includes; Snowmass Legacy Gold, Peruvian Dakotia, PPeruvian Caligula, Dom Lucilio, My Peruvian Rolex, Peruvian Bueno, PPeruvian Emilio, Snowmass Invincible, PPPeruvian Jericho, Hobby Horse CPeruvian Winchester, Snowmass Peruvian Cassanova, El Nino's Michelangelo, Hobby Horse Black Epic and 6 Peruvian Accoyo Titan, just to name a few. We strive to diversify our breeding genetic line and continue to breed to produce the best quality alpacas possible.
Currently, we have two standing studs at our farm: "Great Expectations, Dickens", a true black male (co-owned with Hobby Horse Farm), and "Avalon's Impresarion" (co-owned with Avalon Farm Alpacas), a white male. Both alpacas are multiple color champions with impressive fleece and conformation. We also have junior herdsire color champions, "Crystal de Diego" and "Crystal Shiloh", who will be ready to breed in the future. Our foundation females are also multiple blue ribbon winners who are producing exquisite offspring that are winning blue ribbons, reserve championships and color championships in the show ring. We look forward to our future crias continuing a winning tradition.
